Holiday Celebrations

The JCOB comes together several times a year as a community to celebrate the holidays.

  • High Holiday Services include Rosh Hashanah (day service and Tashlich) and Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre, day service with Yizkor, Neelah and a Break-the-Fast). See the bottom of this page for the 2019 dates.
  • We will host a 2nd night community Passover Seder at Argyles on Saturday, April 20th.
  • We will remember Yom Hashoah with a one hour interfaith service on Saturday, May 4th at 7pm at the UUCOB  that includes our School Essay Contest and a Reading of Names.  We received 12 essays from the Currituck County high and middle schools, and 7 from the Dare County high schools.  We hope to remember about 200 names of those who perished in the Holocaust.
  • We have a group Menorah lighting for Hanukkah during the December 14th Shabbat service.
