Holiday Celebrations

The JCOB comes together several times a year as a community to celebrate the holidays.

  • High Holiday Services include Rosh Hashanah (day service and Tashlich) and Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre, day service with Yizkor, and a Break-the-Fast).
  • We hosted a 2nd night community Passover Seder at Mako Mike's on Saturday, March 31st.  All 41 attendees were able to participate in reading the Hagaddah and we had 3 youngsters who sang the Four Questions.
  • We remembered Yom Hashoah with a one hour interfaith service on Friday, April 13th at the UUCOB  that included our School Essay Contest and a Reading of Names.  We had close to 50 people in attendance and the 3 winners read their essays out of 20 that were submitted by the Currituck County high and middle schools, and from the Dare County high schools.  We were honored to remember about 200 names of those who perished in the Holocaust.
  • We have a group Menorah lighting on Hanukkah.
