Yesterday was a historic
day for the Jewish Community of the Outer Banks as our new full size torah was
used in a service for the very first time. Thanks go out to all of those
who donated money towards the Torah fund. The Torah will be present for
all services. Having a full size Torah is an important and significant
step in the growth of the JCOB. The Torah came from Gush Katif, Israel,
which was an Israeli settlement area in Gaza that was liquidated by the
Israelis in 2005 as part of the agreement to leave the area to the
Palestinians. |
